The UELDP has introduced improvements to the local administration practices in local planning by adding a program of investment and local development for rural and urban development projects. It aims at enabling local administration to plan and execute urban spaces in focal areas of cities or villages in an integrated manner that crosscut traditionally-separated sectors. This practice of integrated urban development and rehabilitation in urban and rural settings is new to local administration. Therefore, BECT team is providing technical support / capacity development in the field of urban planning & design.
Guidelines for planning and designing selected three local services, Identification and prioritization of urban development interventions, Developing and supervising the execution of six urban development projects within the targeted interventions areas within six cities & Capacity building for relevant departments to urban development.
